Ashton Kutcher attends premiere of "Spread" hosted by Hamptons Magazine

Hangin’ in the Hamptons

Ashton Kutcher hits an East End screening

Ashton Kutcher was not a prankster on the set of “Spread,” according to co-star Anne Heche, who was glad of it. “I did not want to get punk'd when I’m running around half naked all the time.”

Kutcher, Demi Moore, Heche and James Tupper (he's the daddy of her new baby), co-stars Margarita Levieva, Sebastian Stan and his “Gossip Girl,” Leighton Meester, joined Niche Media CEO Jason Binn and editor-in-chief Cristina Cuomo (Hamptons and Gotham magazines) Saturday night at an exclusive UA East Hampton Theater screening. Kutcher’s co-Kaballah followers, Donna and Gabby Karan, also showed up. Later, revelers washed down the signature dishes of Philippe East Hampton with Orzel Vodka, at Lily Pond.

“Spread,” produced by Barbarian Films and distributed by Anchor Bay, portrays a different kind of eyes wide open relationship – based on lust and opportunism. It opens August 14.

Kutcher gave his all to the roll of a pretty boy in Los Angeles, whose lifestyle is fueled by his sexual prowess and manipulative charm. He moves into Anne Heche’s fabulous “spread,” but meets his match in the equally calculating Levieva, a waitress driving an $80,000 car. Playing this character, Kutcher said, “made me appreciate the stability I have in my life. I’m happy I’m not in the game, because the game is not fun. It could be very painful.”

“We had a lot to do in this movie,” said Anne Heche. “We had to create, hopefully, an adult relationship that’s never been seen before and that’s tricky. We wanted it to be relatable, but also blow people’s minds and bring them into a world that they hadn’t been in. I think we accomplished that.”

If there’s one woman left who doesn’t think Kutcher is the real sexiest man alive -- either those who watched him on “That ‘70s Show” and “Punk’d,” or those Demi’s age, who wouldn’t turn a hot younger guy away, but don’t want to be called “Cougars” – seeing him shirtless in “Spread” will take care of that.
But Kutcher’s too evolved to buy into that image. “I’m not chatting up other woman, I’m already taken,” he told us. “I like to connect with people of all ages to tell stories that they can relate to. I’m really trying to focus on creative things that create change in the world in one way, shape, form or the other.”
“Funnily enough, he’s a very serious actor,” said Heche. “That’s probably what people wouldn’t know about him.”

And he likes to watch Demi shop and get dressed at night. We are so in love.
